Atul Jain, Senior VP and Business Head, fans, Orient Electric, spoke to Sangeeta Yadav about the recently launched Aerocool fans with strong shoulder blades and elegant designs
What are the specifications of the recently launched Aerocool fanIJ
Aerocool fan, which caters to the super premium ceiling fan category, is inspired from aerofoil design of aircraft wings and uses the winglet technology to further reduce the air cutting sound while giving an impressive air delivery of 300 CMM. It has a sweep of 1320 mm and has 100 per cent rust-free blade made out of high-grade glass filled compound ABS which provides strength to the blades, thus making it bend-proof and easy to clean. It also has the sturdiest and heaviest 18-pole motor design for longer life.
What are the essential differences between Aerostorm and Aerocool seriesIJ
The difference is primarily in terms of the appearance. Aerocool has different blades with a much stronger shoulder to support the blade and an aesthetic design. The deliverables are the best in the industry for both the fans. It has the highest air delivery in the market and the noise level is similar in both but lower than what the industry offers. We aim to offer more choices to the consumers in hi-end quality fans. There is a difference in the cost as well but not that much. Aerostorm fans cost Rs 5990 offline and Rs 5399 at Amazon whereas Aerocool is priced at Rs 5290.
By launching two new fans one after the other, do you think it will affect the sale as consumers are likely to go for the latest modelIJ
The market is open to high-quality fans at any point in time. I don’t think the launch of both the fans simultaneoulsy will in any way hamper the sales. At the end, consumers get a distinctive choice of fans to pick from according to their interiors and demand. Some people will buy Aerocool only for the fact that it has appealing shoulder blades whereas some people will buy Aerostorm for its fine winglet. The Aeroseries fans also offer models which have light in it, and some are remote operated too. In the future, maybe we will come up with all in one feature in fans.
How is the audiences’ response towards the Aeroseries fansIJ
It has been incredible. It has done well with the Amazon tie-up and at retail stores also. It is too early to give the figures but I am getting positive feedback. It is consumers and distributors word that this Aero Series fans are quite different and something which has not been seen in the market before. We expect the super premium fans to contribute to 10 per cent of total fan sales in the next two years.
