After the success of Bigg Boss in Kannada and Bangla, Endemol India plans to produce the show in other regional languages

We complain about their behaviour and crib about their attitudes, but there are still many among us who enjoy the catfights and take out time specially to watch the turn of events inside the Bigg Boss house. Majority of the viewers, who started watching the reality show and became its ardent followers, may say that they lost interest when the housemates were more controversial than famous figures but the fact is that they still keep the track of what’s going on inside the Bigg Boss house. Keeping in mind the popularity of the show and the TRPs that it has been garnering, the production house, Endemol India, introduced Bigg Boss in Kannada and Bangla. After the success in these two regional languages the production house now plans to make shows in other regional languages, too.

“The reality show has been a huge success in Hindi and given its popularity we have been keen to do it in other regional languages. As a production house we have always focussed on good content and have tried to bring it to people across the country. In the past, we took our game show, Deal or No Deal, to Sun TV, which signed up for the show in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. The show was a hit and ran for 400 episodes,” said Deepak Dhar, CEO and MD, Endemol India. As far the criticism for the show goes, Deepak said that that he has never considered the regular comments on the contestants as criticism. “Bigg Boss as a format is chalk and cheese, so there has to be all kind of people inside the house. I think the audience will always have their favourites and it is no way that the list of contestants that we put out will always be loved by everyone,” he said.
