Oil Industry Safety Directorate (OISD), a technical directorate under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, took a giant leap towards enhancing process safety in oil and gas industries in the country by signing an Mou with the American Petroleum Institute (API), which is the largest national trade association in the United States for the oil and natural gas industry in Delhi recently.
The MoU was signed by Hirak Dutta, on behalf of OISD and Chip Evans on behalf of API in presence of RK Singh, joint secretary (Refineries), Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and representatives from the Indian oil & gas industry. The agreement aims at bilateral cooperation between OISD and API in standardisation, certification and training and would provide global exposure to OISD experts by being part of various API standards subcommittees and knowledge sharing.
