A journey of love, differences and discovery. The forthcoming Amazon Original Series, Bandish Bandits is the story of two young musicians, hailing from contrasting backgrounds.
Set in Jodhpur, the romantic musical drama follows the story of Radhe and Tamanna. Radhe is a singing prodigy determined to follow in the classical footsteps of his grandfather. Tamanna is a rising pop sensation desperate to become India’s first international popstar. Radhe’s world is turned upside down when he falls in love with Tamanna. Torn between helping her achieve superstardom and staying true to his own music and his family’s legacy, will he succeed in juggling both at the risk of losing everything he has?
The lead actor, Ritwik Bhowmik says, “The series has been a dream in the making. Working with stalwarts such as Naseeruddin Shah, Rajesh Tailang, Sheeba Chaddha and Atul Kulkarni for my debut was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. Shreya Chaudhry, lead actress says, “Working with Anand Tiwari has always been something I had wanted to do, so a being part of this series is nothing short of serendipitous. Produced and created by Amritpal Singh Bindra and directed by Anand Tiwari, the show also features an exciting original soundtrack, composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, who are also making their digital debut with this show.
Talking about the show Tiwari had earlier said, “Bandish Bandits is a story about the meeting of two individuals and cultures that are in many ways different, and yet in other ways incredibly similar. While each character has a unique and compelling story in their own right, it’s how these stories come together which makes this series so powerful, romantic and real. I am beyond excited to bring this incredible tale of romance, beautifully told through the musical genius of composers Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.”
Now the OTT platform has come up with a unique idea to raise the curiosity around the show. It has brought together the cast of some of its noted shows such as Mirzapur, The Family Man, Inside Edge and Made In Heaven, among others.
The video starts with Kunaal Roy Kapur (Arghya), who is playing Shreya Chaudhary’s (Tamanna) manager in the show, attempting to find the best marketing idea for the trailer launch.
In an attempt to scout for the best marketing idea, Kunaal brings together some of the quirkiest people on the internet together on a video call along with Shreya and Ritwik. Some of the people who join them on the video call are familiar faces like Ali Fazal (Guddu in Mirzapur), Divyendu (Munna in Mirzapur), Sapna Pabbi (Mantra in Inside Edge), Ahsaas Chhana, Nikhil Vijay & Shubham Gaur (from Hostel Daze), Yashaswini Dayama (Made In Heaven), Sharib Hashmi (JK in The Family Man) and digital influencer Ayush Mehra.
