Now that Nikhil Chinapa is no more the face of Sunburn, he is looking out for more feasible options

After his break-up with Sunburn, Nikhil Chinapa is all set to get back to the music scene. He will be doing so in his own individual capacity without his company Submerge backing him. However, the most recent of his involvements is that he is one of the few from across the world who will be chairing the AFEM Panel at the Amsterdam Dance Music Festival on October 17 in Amsterdam. He will be joined by Duncan Stutterheim, ID&T from Netherlands, Horst Weidenmueller, K7! from Germany, Martin Gontad, Creamfields from South America, Richie McNeil, Totem/One love from Australia, Steven Braines, Weird & Wonderful from UK, Ben Turner, Graphite from Great Britain and Kurosh Nasseri, Nasseri Music Business Solutions from US.

Chinapa will be sharing perspective on the Indian dance music scenario as well as discussing ways of local-global integrations for the future. Nikhil is also an active member on the Association For Electronic Music’s (AFEM) 51-member strong international board of advisors and attended the International Music Summit (IMS) in Ibiza last year with big names like Patrick Moxey (Sony Music), David levy (WME) and James Barton (live Nation).

Chinapa said, “It’s going to be quite interesting as the aim of the panel discussion is to ‘set the agenda’ by identifying the critical issues the electronic music industry is facing as a whole and to bring into focus how the Association can address these issues collectively.”

Apart from this Nikhil has his hands full with properties like AAA, #uXX, Group Therapy India and live Viacom’s newly announced festival in Goa later this year.
