like responsible members of any household, actors came together to put up a grand show and made Star Parivaar Awards a glitzy affair

Imagine a scene of an annual family celebration from your favourite daily soap — a grand haveli adorned with flowers and lights, family members turning up in their most embellished outfits, perfect background score and dramatised dance sequences. Everything seems ‘too happy to be real’. The evening at the Yash Raj Studios was exactly like what you imagined! It was the annual event of the Star Plus parivaar and the members of the parivaar came all prepared to make the celebrations grand.

Sooraj-Sandhya from Diya aur Baati Hum, Aaditya-Pankhuri from Pyaar Ka Dard Hain, Gopi-Ahem and Rashi-Jigar from Saathiya, Aakash-Poonam from Ek Ghar Banauga, Nach Baliye–5 winners Jay and Mahi, Ranvijay-Veera with Ratan from Veera were some of the popular Parivaar faces that walked the red carpet and then took over the stage to shake a leg and present the much-talked about show. Apart from the actors of the various shows, Sonakshi Sinha, Imran Khan, Riteish Deshmukh and Shilpa Shetty Kundra were also present.

The theme of this year’s Star Parivaar Awards was Yeh Prem Kahaani Hai…Parivaar Ki. As expected it was more grand than any celebration you had ever watched on small screen. While most award shows are usually about special performances, this award function was designed like a musical, with characters like Bhabho, Sandhya, Sooraj from Diya Aur Baati Hum and Moti Jhaijee from Veera playing their part of responsible family members dedicated to put up the best show and negative characters from various shows on the channel trying to introduce obstacles, just because they too want to perform. The musical was choreographed by Shiamak Davar, who came up with interesting themes for the dance sequences that were a part of the ceremony.

like in any family celebration, it is attempted to get even the distant relatives, in this event too the family members of the actors and some fans were specially invited as part of the family. It was interesting to note that the fans were so inspired by the actors that some were even dressed like Akshara in Yeh Rishtaa Kya Kehlata Hai and someone dressed her daughter like Veera.

The celebrations went on for over three hours and Star Parivaar song 2013 — Tum Jo Milgaye ho sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and Ankit Tiwari was followed like an anthem throughout.
