To meet the growing power demand of Uttar Pradesh in general and Kanpur in particular, a high capacity 765/400kV, 3000 MVA State-of-the-Art Gas Insulated Substations (to minimise the land requirement) have been established by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. With this, reliable power supply to Kanpur area is ensured.
The sub - station is strategically located in central U.P and will act as a gateway for transfer of power from Eastern to Western part of Northern Grid.
