Continuing its mission to improve the livelihoods of the tribals (both forest dwellers and artisans), TRIFED has now decided to explore a convergence and build a partnership with Akhil Bhartiya Vanvasi Kalyan Kendra, an organisation that has been working for the welfare of tribals in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand since 1952. In this regard, a Memorandum of Understanding was exchanged between the two organisations to work together for setting up of TRIFOOD Parks in five districts in Madhya Pradesh. The MoU was signed by Pravir Krishna, Managing Director, TRIFED and Yogesh Bapat, General Secretary, Akhil Bhartiya Vanvasi Ashram.
Punjab National Bank (PNB) announced the extension of its popular ‘PNB Festival Bonanza Offer-2020’, till March 31, 2021. The promotional scheme has been rechristened now as ‘PNB NEW YEAR BONANZA-2021’. The promotional bonanza was designed to further accentuate the retail credit growth of the bank as well as to encash the opportunities emerged in the market during the festive season. Under the scheme, the bank will offer full waiver of upfront/ processing fees and documentation charges on all fresh housing loans, takeover housing loans, car loans and myProperty loans.
Lt Gen Tarun Kumar Aich, DG NCC, formally inaugurated the National Cadet Corps Republic Day Camp 2021 at Delhi Cantt. The inauguration ceremony started with Sarv Dharam Pooja. Around 1,000 cadets are participating in the camp, which will culminate with the Prime Minister’s rally on January 28, 2021. Speaking on this occasion, Lt Gen Tarun welcomed the cadets and congratulated them on getting selected for the most prestigious camp of the NCC. He said that the aim of the camp is to enhance self-confidence of cadets, deepen their value system and provide an exposure to the rich culture and traditions of our nation.
Surpassing the previous records, National Fertilizers Limited (NFL) has achieved ever highest production of 9.99 Lakh MT Urea in the third quarter during FY 2020-21. The company successfully maintained its operations during constraints posed by COVID-19. The plants at Nangal and Panipat achieved their ever best urea production during October-December 2020. The company through meticulous planning worked past the disruptions caused by COVID and Rail Roko agitation in Punjab and Haryana. NFL has been increasing its non-urea business as well. In Q3, NFL produced ever highest quantity of 4,981 MT of Bentonite Sulphur at its Panipat Plant.
The company has also undertaken a number of energy saving schemes.
As a part of Fit India Movement, Northern Railway Sports Association (NRSA) organised ‘Fit India Cyclothon’ at Karnail Singh Stadium, New Delhi. The General Manager, Northern Railway and Patron, NRSA, Ashutosh Gangal, presided over the cyclothon event. Speaking on this occasion, he said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the slogan of Fitness Ka Dose, Aadha Ghanta Roz, whose aim is that every Indian citizen should dedicate half an hour every day for his health. As part of that initiative, this cyclothon was organised. These days cycling has emerged not only as a hobby but as an economical means to keep oneself fit.”
The District Magistrate of Baghpat, Shakuntala Gautam and MP representative Thakur Pradeep Singh inaugurated the Kisan Mela, organised under the aegis of the welfare mission in the district headquarters premises. This fair has been organised by the Farmers Welfare Mission. On this occasion, a seminar and agricultural exhibition was also organised in the fair. The District Magistrate visited the exhibition and apprised all the farmers about all the agricultural equipment related to the farmers' fair.
