Dr Mahesh Sharma, Minister of State for Culture, inaugurated the 11th edition of the Indian Fashion Jewellery and Accessories show (IFJAS) which was held concurrently with the  61st edition of India International Garment (IIGF) at India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida, NCR Delhi, from July 16 to 18.

The IFJAS was organised by Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts [EPCH] and IIGF by Apparel Export Promotion Council [AEPC], according to  OP Prahladka, chairman, EPCH. Sharma said this centre had brought Gautam Budh Nagar on the international map  by hosting international  events.  Organised by both EPCH and now AEPC, the garment fair and the jewellery showcase drew buyers from all over the world.

Satyadev Pachauri, Minister of Khadi & Village Industry, Govt. of UP, said that as manufacturers and exporters not only earn foreign exchange, pay tax and create job opportunities in the country, efforts are being made that they need not go to government departments for solving their problems. Instead,  officials of the concerned department will be delivering  solutions at their doorstep. One-stop windows will be created so that exporters can give more time for business development.

Around 250  exhibitors  drawn from all parts of the country displayed high fashion jewellery, semi-precious jewllery, stoles, scarves, shawls, hand bags, clutch purses, belts, wallets, neck ties, beads, stones, crystals, head, hair accessories, fancy fashion footwear, tattooes and bindies.

Buyers from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Egypt, France, Ghana, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Kuwait, lebanon, Mexico, Panama, New Zealand, Russia, Sweden, Spain, Senegal, South Africa, The Netherlands, Taiwan, USA and Vietnam placed orders to the exhibiting companies during three days of the shows.
