Uttarakhand witnessed incessant rains, about 375 per cent more than the average benchmark rainfall in the region during the monsoon season, from June 14–17. Catastrophic conditions prevail with more than eight hundred dead and thousands missing. Considering the extent of devastation, extensive rehabilitation measures are required in the area for restoration of normalcy. Speaking on the occasion, Raghavan said, “The unprecedented degree of the calamity and subsequent grief and anguish of the sufferers are of colossal magnitude. The contribution to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund — Uttarakhand is a modest effort by IDBI Bank and its employees to express and demonstrate our solidarity with state government, towards reducing the suffering of the affected populace as a conscientious and responsible corporate citizen of India.”
