Stop killing innocent people as no religion or faith condones it, says Rajyogi Brahmakumar Nikunj ji
Over the course of the year, we witnessed numerous events of innocent killings across the world that claimed lives of those who had no role whatsoever in any kind of criminal activity. These ghastly events raised a very important question in people’s mind that “how and what would motivate a person to just kill innocent people mercilessly. Is this humaneIJ” We all know this very well that killing innocent people is always wrong and no argument or excuse, no matter how deeply believed, can ever make it right. Also, no religion on earth condones the killing of innocent people; no faith tradition tolerates the random killing of our brothers and sisters on this earth. Then why people do it IJ Aren’t they scared of Almighty and his JusticeIJ
Most of our religious scriptures preach that non- violence is the supreme religion. Therefore, it can be inferred that violence is the greatest of all evils. Though it has many faces like anger, hatred and cruelty, but taking someone’s life is considered to be the highest degree of violence. Going a step ahead, killing those who are innocent and have no contribution in making the situation come to the edge is an even greater crime. And the supreme of all forms of cruelties is en masse killing of innocent civilians. Mass murders point to the utmost degradation of human spirit. When humans are unable to connect to others of their kind as their own, it results in loss of their most essential element i.e humanity. Their conscience is so much torn in strife and so much taken over by ego, rage and greed that it becomes numb to the cries of fellow human beings.
We all have read about mass murders in history books coloured with tales of bloodshed. We have also heard about aerial bombings on one country by another, read about mass extermination of one community by the head of another and so on. But, despite such gruesome episodes to learn from, we humans are not ready to budge, as a result of which terrorist attacks, suicide bombings and wars continue to threaten life everywhere today and preparations for more and fiercer mass murders continue to be made. With the existing stock of nuclear weapons created by various nations, we have already made preparations to blow up the earth more than thirty times over. And still not satisfied, many more of such means of destruction are being researched, refined and stockpiled around the world under the ironical pretext of providing security.
The present period of lull and peace with simultaneous preparation of war is merely postponing an even greater man-made disaster. looking at all this, many people ask if this impending doom would end up in the eviction of human species from the planetIJ It will no doubt put an end to the present vicious and wicked era when life is becoming more worrisome, fearsome and sorrowful with each passing day and when mistrust, suspicion and uncertainty have made peace most elusive. But at what costIJ We must change while we still can and no time is riper than the present to understand the worth of human compassion.
