HDFC holds virtual India Homes Fair 2020

Published on:

HDFC Ltd hosted a month-long mega online property show ‘India Homes Fair’, featuring over 350 projects from more than 175 renowned developers located across  50 Indian cities.

The event was inaugurated virtually by Renu Sud Karnad, Managing Director, HDFC Ltd, in the presence of other senior executives from HDFC Ltd. All NRIs and PIOs based in London, Singapore & Middle East can look forward to own their dream home in India now.

Karnad said, “The online property show enables homebuyers to view and select properties safely from the comfort of their homes amid this pandemic. We feel that the demand for housing will pick up gradually as the economy emerges out of this difficult period. We at HDFC have seen demand coming back. In July 2020, HDFC achieved 81 per cent of July 2019 disbursements, which was better than what we had expected given the lockdown and other restrictions and the subsequent months have been even better. The recent reports by agencies indicate that sales have been improving and this festive season should be better. One must not forget that structural demand for housing for India will always be strong due to factors such as improved affordability, government’s thrust on affordable housing, favourable demographics, increasing urbanisation and rising aspirations. Affordability was never better given the huge concessions under PMAY, tax benefits on home loans, lowest-ever interest rates and property prices having seen both price and time correction. With people working from home more often, the demand for homes with larger spaces will only increase. All this will not only reaffirm the importance of a home but has also built a sense of urgency to own a home. We hope that our customers will immensely benefit from this initiative.”
