After sporting a pony and a shaved head, Indian skipper MS Dhoni has gone for a mohawk hairstyle. His fans and experts give him the thumbs-up
He is no David Bekcham, Mario Balotelli or El Shaarawy, but Mahendra Singh Dhoni is probably the only Indian cricketer known as much for his style as his sporty skills. His hairdo has become a reference point for the youth and the ‘cool captain’ doesn’t fail to surprise his fans now and then with new hairstyles. He sported long hair, then got them trimmed to look like a perfect gentleman. After winning the World Cup in 2011, he chose to shave his head.
Now, latest is his mohawk hairstyle, which was revealed at the opening match of the Champions league T20, against Titans. The new look has created a buzz on social networking websites. Renowned hair expert Jawed Habib calls Dhoni the new ‘hair tycoon’ of India. “He has experimented with his hairstyle more than any other sportsman in India. With every tournament or series, he comes up with something new. I think he is the David Beckham of cricket,” he says.
Though Habib finds it cool, he suggests shorter mohawk for Dhoni. “This hairstyle is quite popular with sporting icons like Mario Balotelli and El Shaarawy adopting it. But I think shorter hair with a shaved back would look smarter on Dhoni,” he suggests.
