There is a legal trouble for Ranveer Singh-Priyanka Chopra's Gunday. In what is being viewed as a timely intervention by 'citizens' to "restrict people from playing with our religious sentiments" a Calcutta High Court lawyer on Monday filed a Public Interest litigation in the Court seeking to stop the playing of two songs of the film on grounds of its hurting religious sentiments.
The film scheduled to be released on February 14 and its songs already doing the rounds show the clippings of dances against the backdrop of the much revered Dakshineshwar Kali Temple, once the abode of Ramakrishna Paramahansa and his disciple Swami Vivekananda.
The second song shows similar swinging of hips in front of Calcutta High Court. It hurt religious sentiments and was also not a good advertisement of how the sanctity of judiciary was preserved in India particularly when one swung hips right in front of the State's highest court, said Krishnendu Gooptu, the lawyer filing the application.
