Jack Daniel's Sinatra Select whiskey can be distinguished by its strong oaky flavour and smooth vanilla finish, says Darpan Mago

People like Frank Sinatra have called whiskey ‘the nectar of Gods’ and others as Winston Churchill survived on it like one does on water. It has been here for centuries, fuelling many wild nights for some. So sit down, relax and pour in a dram. A drink during some peaceful hour is all you need to make your day perfect.

Jack Daniel’s has recently introduced the Sinatra Select brand of whiskey in the Indian market.

The name Sinatra comes in honour of Frank Sinatra, an ardent lover of Jack Daniel’s and a well-known American singer cum film actor. On stage from 1950s to 1990s, Sinatra always offered a toast to his audience with a glass of Jack Daniel’s in his hand. This love-affair continued for his entire life and the man was buried with a bottle of Jack Daniel’s besides him.

Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select is no ordinary with a satisfying taste that smoothly blends on the tongue. Compared to Jack Daniel’s Old No 7, the Sinatra Select has even lesser spirit odour and a mild swirl releases the aromas of the drink.

“This Tennessee whiskey definitely tastes better with a dignified and oaky flavour and leaves a lasting essence in the mouth. A slight vanilla taste on the tongue that comes after sipping it is due to the aging process, which usually requires seven to eight years in specially crafted Sinatra barrels. These barrels are made using the white American oak wood and have an extra layer of toasted wood to provide a full character and rich amber colour to the drink. All the master distillers involved in preparing the whiskey hail from Tennessee and inherit the ability of knowing when the whiskey is right for bottling,” informs Amrit Kiran Singh, vice president and area director of Brown-Forman India.

Sinatra Select is bottled at 90 proof and is currently offered in a premium packaging. The usual cap has been replaced by the one made from white American oak wood.

Sinatra Select is priced at Rs 22,000 per bottle and is available at duty free stores at the airport and select retail shops.
