A.K.Puthia, General Manager, Northern Railway undertook a detailed inspection of Attari-Amritsar-Beas-ludhiana rail section station as part of his annual inspection programme, going over various maintenance and safety aspects of level-crossings and structural installations enroute on the said rail section. Puthia also inspected important stations enroute and checked on the availability of essential passenger amenities there. He was accompanied by principal heads of department of Northern Railway, Anuj Prakash, Divisional Railway Manager, Northern Railway, Firozpur and senior divisional railway officers.
Commencing his inspection schedule from Attari railway station, Puthia was presented with Guard of Honor by RPF Brigade. Puthia inaugurated the renovated Station Master’s room, improvised block working and control communications systems, and automatic control of lighting arrangement for energy conservation of immigration and customs building. The general manager also inaugurated the Guard & Drivers’ lobby and a Tourist Help Desk at Amritsar.
