The second outlet of The Beer Café opened recently in CP. It boasts of being the only place to offer a customised delivery concept — Pour Your Own Beer

You need an occasion to uncork a bubbly and wine is meant to be special. But all you probably need for beer is some company and you are sure to have a ‘good time.’ Keeping in mind the popularity and demand of the drink, there have been several innovations around it across the world. Special joints serving variety of beer at an affordable range started opening in Delhi a few years ago, making most of the ever-increasing demand. The Beer Café not only became the part of the trend two years ago but in less time managed to make its place among ‘serious beer drinkers.’ Their outlet at Janpath is the most known for its drinks and food in the area and recently they opened another outlet in D Block, Inner Circle, Connaught Place. They are calling it The Beer Café Biggie and say that it is “the newest and boldest ever initiative by The Beer Café.” Taking the inspiration from the building, which was built in the 1930s, the industrial design idiom draws a sharp contrast in a contemporary setup. This outlet is a fusion of traditional carpentry and masonry infused with modern furniture and a maze of ironwork.” A first-of-its-kind, 16 beer chillers are double decked which chills more than 3,200 bottles at any given time. The café is the first one to bring in Pour Your Own Beer (PYOB) to India. It is a highly customised beer delivery concept that allows the customers to enjoy their favourite beer brand in whatever quantity they want using the RIFD card. “I was travelling abroad when I got to know of this concept and I was immediately interested and realised that we need something like this in India, too, when people have greater awareness about their drinks. They know what flavour or brand they would like to have,” said Rahul Singh, CEO and founder of The Beer Café. Rahul has partnered with José Hevia, CEO of DraftServ, USA, to introduce this concept in India. Pour Your Own Beer was Jose’s invention which is now getting popular across the globe. “India is a big market and before Rahul, there were people approaching us, but credibility and reputation is important to us. Rahul is well-travelled, he understands the technology and was genuinely interested. I think the concept will pick up well in India,” said Jose, who was present at the launch party.

They also launched two new beers — Irish Magners Cider and Carling. Irish Magners Cider is crafted in Ireland using the fresh juice from 17 varieties of apple. Honouring William Magner’s original recipe perfected since 1935, Magners is patiently vat matured to create the unique, refreshing taste of the world’s top selling Irish Cider. Carling is an easy drinking lager brewed with Canadian two-row barley. In existence for over 150 years, the Carling name has been synonymous with quality brewing since 1840.

The café is divided into three segments and the interiors are well-planned and designed to give it a grungy look. “Since we already have an outlet in CP, our experience here has been surprising. Being centrally located we are expecting mixed crowd and the kind of technology we have introduced will definitely make our second outlet popular in no time,” said Rahul.
