Among the kids segment, Roli Books’ recently launched comic series on Param Veer Chakra awardees is a head-turner. The publishing house has planned to produce separate books on 21 national heroes.
The first two comics featuring stories on Major Somnath Sharma and Captain Manoj Pandey are on display. The stories have been written by Retd Major General Ian Cardozo, who is also the author of Param Vir: Our Heroes in Battle while the illustrations are by Rishi Kumar.
“It’s a smart way to reach out to kids and to share stories of courage. Kids books are doing really well and also comprise a large chunk of market. Parents are coming with children who are encouraging them to buy stuff,” said Kapil Kapoor, director of Roli Books.
