Housefull 3 is going to be a complete entertainment package. Akshay Kumar and Abhishek Bachchan spoke to Shifa Naseer about the movie, its theme and their roles
The third intslment of the Housefull franchise turns the concept of a father wanting to get his daughters married off on its head. It is all about a father who does not want his three daughters to marry and the attempt of three rogues to change his mind. Akshay Kumar said, on the signifance of such movies, “The movie is a situational comedy and it will make people laugh. So far 2016 has remained a year of movies dealing with serious issues based on social awareness and morality like Airlift, Neerja et al.
This can be called as the first entertainment movie of the year.” But when persistently asked about the morals highlighted in the movie, Akshay laughed and added, “There are two lessons in the film: ‘don’t lie to your parents’ and ‘don’t marry for money’.” He further revealed his secret of being so physically fit, “It is the result of positive thinking which is very important in life for one’s aura. I follow specific rules like having my dinner by 7 and one hour long exercise daily. That does the trick for me.” When asked about his wife’s reaction to the trailer of the movie, he revealed, “She just simply smiled and said, ‘Good luck!’”
Bachchan, when asked if he would like to work with Kumar in the future, replied, “It’s a good experience working with Akshay. In the future, if such an opportunity presents itself, I would definitely like to work with him again.”
Famous for his Nagin dance, he said, “There is no Nagin dance in the movie, although you may find some other kind of dance in it and for that you have to watch the film.”
“The structure as well as the genre of this film is the same as the other two. So people, who liked the previous parts, will definitely like the third part. I laughed a lot while shooting the film,” said Akshay. About the possibility of Housefull 4, he shared, “It is very difficult to bring the entire cast on the platform. Each movie requires some time in its making so we cannot really say much about another sequel in the future.”
Jacqueline Fernandez and lisa Haydon spoke about the movie and the characters; the three sisters whose father doesn’t want them to get married and their efforts to change his opinion.
While describing his own character, Abhishek Bachchan said, “An actor must never become comfortable in any role or genre he is acting in. As one becomes comfortable, they become complacent. You should always be hungry and want to improve and look for a scope to improve. My character’s name is Bunty. He is an aspiring rapper. And he falls in love with one of the three sisters.” Bachchan says he does not have a favourite genre but said, “The genre of the movie that you are currently working on should be your favourite at that particular time.”
