Internal Affairs takes a look at modern relationships that are mostly shaped by families, workplaces and changing values. Directed by Adhaar Khurana, this Zee Theatre production is set for a multi-city tour. Team Viva reports

Internal Affairs may not attract a hardcore theatre buff but it has just the right mix to captivate a young audience who can easily relate to its contents, be it tenuous relations, lifestyle, or even the body language that currently seems to be in vogue.

The play is youthful in the treatment of its subject matter and urban in its sensibilities. But for all the ease and superficiality of one-night stands and the bumping into exes, the one thing that stood out was the equal space given to both the male and female protagonists.

The Zee Theatre production — a Zee Entertainment Enterprises limited initiative — was recently performed in Delhi. Hussain Dalal, Priyanshu Painyuli, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Shikha Talsania aptly donned the roles of easygoing youngsters in the play.

Asked about Zee’s foray into theatre production Anuj Talukdar, president, Zee live, says: “As a company, we have  invested almost three decades in understanding content consumption behaviour, nationally and internationally. Theatre being the purest and oldest form of content has a lot to offer. The tour, with multiple plays, seeks to catalyse the growth and understanding of theatre in the country by bringing forth works of the most acknowledged playwrights in genres ranging from drama, suspense, social issues, musicals, classics and satires.” xtending the reach of theatre using Zee’s pan-global infrastructure, “With over 50 shows spread across 15 cities, we intend to strengthen the entire theatre ecosystem for the future,” he adds.
