What is your vision for the company?
Foodism stemmed from my love for food and now it has grown to something much, much bigger. I want to take Foodism to the world, make internationally shipped, homemade gourmet food a possibility someday. More recently, my immediate goals are to get the app out there and create a network of talented home chefs who can start selling across India. In Phase 2, we will also consider adding more product categories.
Do you wish to create a team of entrepreneurs?
Yes, that’s the dream. I want to be able to bring together talented skilled home chefs who can make gourmet food at home. The ideal team of home chefs would be driven, skilled in their area of cooking, hygienic and enthusiastic about serving food.
What motivates you?
I am motivated by the fact that there is so much talent that I can streamline, organise in this country. If only we could tap into the home chefs market and make these delicacies available to people across cities, diluting all regional borders and only focusing on the love of food – wouldn’t that be fantastic? I wouldn’t call it as much education as hand-holding and grooming these entrepreneurs. They’re already amazing – that’s why they are with Foodism. We’ll help out with their paperwork, we’ll ensure they have access to the information they need.
Where do you see Foodism in the next five years?
We’ll have rolled out the app and gained many members hopefully – by this year-end itself, we want to onboard 500 home chefs as sellers on the app! Apart from that, in the next five years we would have created more product categories also. We would have easily rolled out many more verticals that are currently in the ideation phase.
