Chart the nautical territory with The Dockyard Brewing Co. Ananya checks in
The café is spread over two floors with seating on the first done to suit the families. The basement boasts of a sailor’s wheel, comfy sitting space and a smoker’s lounge. We decided to start with their much hyped purification drinks. We were first served The Dockyard sailor, which was a combination of pineapple and spinach. Even though spinach is not something we like, the drink was refreshing. The best part about these drinks was that they had no syrups or preservatives. They had pure extracts of fruits and vegetables which made us feel a little healthy. Next, we ordered the Indonesian laksa with prawns. The delicious soup was served with lime which added more flavour to it.
Moving on we decided to try the wheat beer pizza and it was kick-ass. The chicken tikka pizza was deliciously crisp and had an Indian touch to it. The five spice lamb chops were beautifully done with the meat being tender and perfectly cooked. The haldi mirchi jhinga, which was served with tomato garlic chutney, had too much of turmeric. However, our next dish, corn and cheese spring roll was crunchy and delightful. The sweet chili sauce, served with the spring roll was house made and complemented the dish well. We also loved the kasoori murgh tikka and doodi dahi ki galauti served on the ulta tawa parantha. Their spicy cashewnut was not that flavourful. Satay Kai was far more delicious. For all the fish lovers, lager batter chilli garlic fish is highly recommended. The spicy crispy fish with burnt garlic and red chilli was splendid and the yummiest of all.
We also dug into poisson acqua pazza which was a grilled fillet of fresh mangur served with saffron cilantro fumet, creamy mash and bread. The fillet was heavenly and melted in our mouth. The main course menu offers a variety of pre-plated meals. lastly, for desserts, we gave gur parantha with vanilla ice cream a shot. We also indulged in the schezwan pepper tiramisu and rich chocolate mousse. Overall, our food journey at The Dockyard Brewing Co. pushed the boundaries of our taste buds. Some worked some didn’t. The foodies are going to love this café in Gurgaon which is to be launched next month.
