As the mercury continues to soar, there’s one way to quench thirst by drinking exotic and traditional drinks. Delhi Tourism had recently organised the “Sharbat Mela” at Dilli Haat INA.

The idea behind organising this mela is to provide Delhiites with a cool, natural escape from the heat. There were a variety of traditional drinks and flavours available at the mela such as thandai, sattu, kokam panna, lassi, jaljeera, chuski, faluda kulfi, lemon, kevda, rose, sandal, mint as well as modern drinks such as mango shake. There were more than 40 different kinds of drinks to enthrall the visitors.

This year’s special attraction were the organic squashes and juices from Navdanya and Yamu’s Panchayat. Drinks were made of ladakh Himalayan berries, sea buckthorn and rhododendron juice. The drinks were refreshing as well as healthy.  Fruits and plant juices organically grown like mango, ginger, litchi, pudina squash were also displayed. Apart from enjoying variety of drinks on offer, various folk dances and cultural programmes were held to entertain the crowd.
