Girls from a school in Dantewada tied rakhis to CRPF jawans on duty followed by a cultural programme. In return, the CRPF personnel distributed gifts and organised lunch for students. Senior officers of CRPF, along with troops, civil administration, including Deputy Collector and SDPO Kirandul, President Zila Panchayat, school principal, teachers, warden and media personnel attended the function.
On August 1, the district education officer and headmaster of the school made a complaint before the District Collector that few men in uniform misbehaved with some girls during the cultural programme at the Government Girls’ School at Palnar. Keeping in view the gravity of the allegation, a high-level enquiry, chaired by DIG Dantewada, identified and suspended the culprits.
