Adnan Sami is a wanderer not only because of the divergent demeanor of his career but also due to his range as a musician. He spoke to Utsav Mishra about the ups and downs of life
Adnan Sami is majestic, whichever way you look at him. As he began his singing, he has fans hanging on to every melodious word. He has his own style and everybody swoons as his fingers fly across the keyboard. He has become a pop-rock sensation in India for past many years. The singer and composer once again enthralled the music lovers with his smash hits such as Kabhi toh nazar milao, Bhar do jholi, Bheegi bheegi raaton mein, lift kara de and Tera chehera at The Garden Galleria mall. He belt out one hit after another in a virtuoso performance that had left the audience spellbound and swaying to the melodies.
Adnan and his bands had attempted to convey the mood in a unique manner. The way he did Jugalbandi with the dholak and played Keyboard breathlessly made the audience to howl.
When asked about his inspiration as a musician, he mentioned, “Whenever I felt depressed in my life I used to think, that how would I move further, I cannot do anything. But when the blessings of people enter to my heart in the form of hoots and whistles, it creates magical vibes inside me, which directly becomes my power, for which I thanks to my audiences. And the most important thing is that, whatever is your desire in life, just let your hands go up in the sky and take a wish from god, because he said whatever you want I will give you.” His charm was so everlasting that no body ever noticed the hours passed.
Adnan teaming up at times with the best of Bollywood, where he has roped in everyone from Amitabh Bachchan to Rani Mukherjee, Raveena Tandon to Govinda and others, began his music career under classical stalwarts. As a classical concert pianist, he also had the honour of giving ‘Royal Command’ performances before the King of Sweden and King Hussein of Jordan, and has been invited as a member of the jury of the prestigious music festival Voice of Asia. It was his second concert in Gardens Galleria and first in Noida.
He further continued about his struggle in the film industry and said, “My journey was started from 2002, I was rejected for three times in a row. But I was very much confident about what I want and had full faith that one day I will achieve it. But I give credit of all my success to the audience only.”
This year was apt for Adnan Sami in a way that he had got the status of Indian citizenship as he concluded, “The unity, values and oneness is still alive in India which I have been experienced. In my whole life I have not seen it in any other country. In India people live together with full support and majority, but in foreign countries, at the age of 18 parents leave their children alone to work.”
