There is more trouble in Kapil Sharma ’s be leaguered paradise. Recently, the team of Baadshaho left the sets of The Kapil Sharma Show without shooting.
But this is not the first time that guests have returned in a huff from its sets. In the past few months
actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Arjun Kapoor and Paresh Rawal left due to last-minute cancellations.
In the latest incident, Ajay Devgn was left fuming when he was told that
Sharma would not shoot on the day. The ace comedian’s phone was switched off and his team did not
have an explanation for the cancellation. There were conflicting reports some of which said that
he had suffered a panic attack while others said that he could not wake up in time after a late night. Devgn walked off from the sets and the rest followed suit.
It seems that Sony, the channel that airs the programme, is miffed with Kapil’s attitude. The channel bosses feel that it is highly unprofessional on his part to not turn up and send away the stars in this fashion. The source said, “The channel is very stressed after this recent incident. They have sent a verbal notice to him to pull up his socks. They feel they have been very accommodating so far but this is quite unacceptable. This is like a warning.” The decision to tick him off verbally was taken at a meeting of the head honchos.
The show’s TRPs have taken a beating in recent times with other reality shows like Dance Plus 3, Khatron Ke Khiladi and Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa lil Champs taking precedence. Incidentally, the channel has recently renewed its contract and this kind of behaviour was least expected from him after the kind of support that he has been given.
