Actor Amitabh Bachchan has sung a soulful lullaby that highlights his character Khudabaksh’s relationship with Zafira, played by Fatima Sana Shaikh, the film Thugs of Hindostaan. Khudabaksh is the father figure in Zafira’s life and has vowed to protect her at any cost.
It isn’t confirmed yet that what happens to Zafira’s parents that compels her to be looked after and mentored by Khudabaksh, it is sure that this is the most pivotal point in the script that triggers every plot.
According to a source, Viktor wanted to show the beautiful father-daughter like relationship between the two that develops ever since Zafira was a child. Khudabaksh will be seen protecting Zafira at every step. He will be seen trying to make Zafira, who fights the brutal memories of her past, sleep by singing a lullaby. Bachchan was moved by doing this scene and decided that he wants to sing the lullaby himself.
“Bachchan was so kicked about singing this lullaby that he decided to record it himself and that too at his home. The initial idea was to make a short lullaby but Bachchan went a step further and converted it into a song. He insisted that Adi puts it into the album,” the source adds.
Bachchan, who felt really excited to sing the lullaby, says, “The song tells you the depth of the bond that Zafira and Khudabaksh share. The lyrics are beautiful and the composition highlights the emotional journey of the two characters who have an incredible father-daughter relationship. I have been telling Adi to put this in the album. I’m sure he will do it because it’s turned out to be a beautiful song.”
The lullaby has been composed by the duo Ajay-Atul and the lyrics are penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
A few lines of the lullaby are: “Baba lauta de mohe gudiya mori, Angna ka jhoolna bhi, Imli ki daar vali muniya mori, Chaandi ka painjana bhi...”
