“We agreed with Ajay and others when i was told that I shouldn't watch any Bollywood films during shooting. Ajay told me that he wanted me to stay 'pure', so that I can be fresh and unconscious of what I am doing. So, that I act naturally as I do in drama schools and not get affected by perhaps what is called typical for Bollywood”, says Sayyeshaa Saigal about her acting in ‘Shivaay’ the much awaited film in which Ajay Devgn is playing the lead.
“If I watch a Bollywood movie I would be like 'oh my God! I need to do exactly like what she is doing”, she adds. The actress, however, watched some Bollywood films after the shooting was over, including ‘Bajirao Mastani’. “I was forbidden to watch any Bollywood stuff during shooting. But by the end of it, I did watch 'Bajirao Mastani', and some songs and clips. Ajay even gave me his DVD rental shop membership, and said 'call them and say what do you want to watch. You want to watch me and KajolIJ Call them,'" she says. The actress is now awaiting the release of "Shivaay" and is keen to watching the other films of Devgn.
"Shivaay" marks the acting debut of Sayyeshaa Saigal, the grand niece of legendary actor Dilip Kumar. The film is scheduled to release on October 28, during Diwali.
