According to the findings, baking is a weekly indulgence for 40 per cent Indians while more than 50 per cent of respondents claim to have learnt it from television shows. Surprisingly, it is also a family activity where 46 per cent of the Indian population chooses to bake with their families. People experiment with the ingredients that they use in their cakes but when it comes to baking for Christmas and specific celebrations, most stick to traditional recipes. Pizzas and breads are Indians’ favourite things to bake. Most Indians are also giving traditional sweets a miss for a chocolate truffle cake.
