Azimul Haque, an IAS officer of AGMUT cadre has joined Delhi Transco Limited as Director (HR) recently.
An alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, Haque has done his B Tech and M Tech in Civil Engineering. After being selected through Indian Engineering Services (IES), he joined the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) where he worked for a brief period. Later, he switched over to Civil Services in 1990.
During his illustrious administrative career spanning over three decades, Haque has held many challenging postings. He started his career as the assistant commissioner of tribal welfare in Nicobar group of Islands under Andaman and Nicobar administration. He has also served as a secretary to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh. In Delhi, he has served in various capacities in different departments. Some of his prominent postings include being the deputy commissioner in MCD, district magistrate in three districts, special secretary (Home), chief vigilance officer in DUSIB and the director of Higher & Technical Education, among others.
In addition to his responsibilities in Delhi Transco Limited, he has also been assigned the duties of special secretary (Power), controller (Weight & Measurement) and director (HR) – Indraprastha Power Generation Company Limited & Pragati Power Corporation.
