With 4D films, musical shows, Google Hangouts and digital caricatures, the Auto Expo is an enthralling experience, says Karan Bhardwaj
Terrific gaming zone and some superstar’s presence are not the only elements drawing crowds at the Auto Expo. The long queues and packed pavilions narrate a different story. Models, stars and vehicles are not the only reason to rejoice at the swanky venue of Auto Expo. There are numerous other fascinating activities that are running houseful! Walk into the huge booths of Renault and Chevrolet, which have literally fallen short of space, and see the madness. After all, who wouldn’t like to have a digital caricatureIJ An Australian artist at Chevrolet paints your face live on her laptop, the demonstration of which is visible on a bigger screen, and delivers a coloured print out in just five minutes! As she draws your sketch, the Renault booth on the opposite direction is rocking with music. Band Taal Inc spellbinds the audience with their amazing rhythms on trash instruments. “The cars have always been a fascination but visitors today want an experience. Since we have got a new venue, we wanted to cash on the opportunity. The more the visitors engage, the more they spread positive word about the brand,” says an official from Chevrolet. The company has developed a virtual walkthrough of the pavilion on their website. They are also sharing a montage of sound bytes and reactions from the audience live on YouTube.
The visitors are having a gala time! Piyush Rajput, a regular at the expo, says this is the best edition. “I have been attending the expo for last six years but never saw this kind of excitement. It’s worth covering all the distance from Delhi. We are actually seeing cars, concerts and technology under one roof, and that too at low priced tickets (Rs 200),” he says.
Maruti Suzuki has come up with a photo studio for its visitors. Answer a simple question and the lucky winner gets a professional photoshoot done with the newly-launched vehicles. Hyundai has arranged a 4D show of its latest unveil Santa Fe. The broad goggles take the audience on an enthralling tour of the car, its interior and technology. Besides, there is a huge canvas where one can colour models and upload pictures online. “We have got fabulous response from the visitors. It’s more of an international experience. The new venue has made it all possible. The digital activity is aimed to engage young audience. It’s well connected on SMS platforms. One can take pictures and upload on social networking websites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram from our booth. In addition, there is Hyundaibuzz app which can be downloaded to access all the latest developments of the brand and the pavilion,” informs Rakesh Srivastava, sr VP, sales and marketing, Hyundai Motor. Harley-Davidson is regularly arranging musical shows with several well-known bands.
