Deviprasad C Rao paints his journey to parts of the country beyond lisbon
My Journey to Portugal-Prelude is a water colour paintings series documenting artist Deviprasad C Rao, fondly known as Devi’s, journey to central and northern Portugal through his creative art works. He is known for his painting series based on Portuguese capital titled lisbon Impact and lisbon Calling. He has expressed his experience in his own way and style of entities.
The paintings are his signature style water color and archival ink pen on paper miniature paintings. Using vibrant colours, intuitively, he defines the Portuguese cities with numerous patterns, lines and dots. They depict architectural heritage of Portugal and its contemporary state. The few cities that are presented in the paintings are lisbon, Sintra, Obidos, Porto, Fatima, Coimbra, Guimaraes, Santo Tirso, Tomar, Evora, Aviero and leriaand Braga. He travelled to these cities, saw, experienced and expressed them in his own way and style of creation.
