CISF mobile application ‘m-Power’ was launched by Surender Singh, IPS, DG CISF during the Annual Senior Officers Conference-2015 to afford one touch access to information about location and contact details of all CISF units, individual’s pay, interface for entering grievance and monitoring its status, and, details of kit itemsissued to the individual. The application has been a runaway hit as it has been downloaded by more than 30,000 individuals within one week of the launch. It is a huge success.
The application has been developed in-house by the EDP Cell of CISF and is the first from the stable of any CAPF. This is an effort to offer an exact equivalent of the service available to the CISF personnel under the employees corner of CISF website, only that it is being now offered on a mobile platform. This effort is part of a larger plan for implementing IT and IT enabled services as outlined in the Digital India M-governance initiatives.
The force personnel have shown considerable interest in taking a look at their pay slips and the kit items issued/due to them on the app. Visits to the grievance redressal page have also shown that a substantial number of force personnel are using the app to monitor the disposal of their grievances.
