Opening its ninth outlet at Aerocity, Café Delhi Heights is worth a repeat visit. By Jigyasu Joshi
In the middle of an aspirant hotel hub, the newest entrant in Worldmark 3, Cafe Delhi Heights enters Aerocity with a breath of fresh air. Simply because it has an easy familiarity. The wooden interiors felt just soothing on a tad chilly winter night. Spread over two floors and a small balcony, the interiors are done in different combinations. From low seating to booth seating with lCDs; from leather seating to the Bohemian style cafe lounge; a fine dine area with a live European style open kitchen, the place has something to offer for each of its patrons.
After getting a place in the balcony, we ordered a vegetarian Harira soup, a Morrocon spiced broth with chickpeas and green lentils. Unlike some soups overlaid with too many veggies and spices, this went smoothly down the gullet. The boiled chickpeas and lentils added to the nutrient quotient of the dish.
For the salads we ordered Panzanella salad, grilled veggies served with diced foccacia bread. Bell peppers, capsicum, broccoli, carrots, baby corn, beans and asparagus were properly crisped, not too soggy, not too fibrous. Served with a generous topping of grated mozarella cheese, it had the necessary richness. Next we ordered Moussaka. Typically a non-vegetarian Mediterranean dish, Cafe Delhi Heights’ version had layered roasted eggplants, zucchini, tomatoes, bell peppers, spiced bechamel sauce served with salad greens and garlic bread. The dish had a lot of complex flavours and with each bite we could taste many textures. It was cheesy but didn’t make us feel heavy. It was a rather a light and a hearty dish which gave a feel good factor after eating.
Going to CDH and not trying their popular Juicy lucy Burger is not a good thing. The giant mutton burger has everything you can ask for. A good option for two people, the burger is filled with veggies and a big mutton patty. The 250 grams of mutton patty with cheese and jalapeno stuffing is totally recommended. Also, go empty stomach if you plan to have this burger.
