Anjali Dinesh Anand believes that hard work and the constant hunger to reinvent takes an actor ahead. By Team Viva

Anjali Anand loves to stretch her frontiers. She portrays the role of the antagonist loveleen on the show Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala. Earlier, she essayed the role of a protagonist in another show but now she wants to feel the whole spectrum of human emotions. Said she, “loveleen is raised in the way 25 per cent of Mumbai individuals are brought up. They are sent to big schools and all their demands are fulfilled by their parents. Nobody educates them about the difference between wrong and right.” The character has a lot of grey shades and layers because she does everything right based on her limited knowledge and perception of the world.

Anand began her career with a web series and then moved on to television. She was unperturbed about the medium during her initial days as she was hungry to express her passion. “I was open to all kind of offers, be it web series, televisions, advertisements or film. Anything that excited my creative mind and extended my learning graph became my destination. More than anything, she was eager to break the convention and tell the world that a plus-sized individual could also enter mainstream television and garner love from the audience.

Working under producer Gul Khan has been quite a pleasant experience for the actress. Though she loves her craft but the role was challenging as it was exactly opposite to her persona. “The reel character has a lot of anger issues which took a toll on my voice too,” she says.  This was in addition to the extra efforts she put in to prepare for the role.

The actress has been getting a lot of attention for her unconventional looks and admirable confidence. She said, “I love the attention and I am glad to have become a role model for many girls aspiring to join the TV industry. Many don’t have the quintessential picture perfect personality but they  have gained immense confidence seeing Anjali’s character portrayal on screen.”

She advised the newer generation of actors that hard work was the only key to success and that one should keep doing shows for the love of acting. “Remain focussed on your craft as that provides the experience. Constant hunger to act and the fire of determination are the only factors that can take an actor to soaring heights of success,” she says.
