Ranveer Singh left fans asking for more with his infectious energy at an eyewear brand launch. Pankaj Kumar reports
Dabbling in multiple brand endorsements, the most recent being the one for denims, Ranveer Singh has a rare ability to translate his off-screen quirks on screen and amaze people.
Donning an all-black in a fitted tee, denim, and a biker jacket, Ranveer, who endorses eyewear label Carrera, was in the capital to launch the new campaign.
The actor entered making a grand entry on a bike. He also made sure to charm the ladies with his moves as he danced with them in one of his hit tracks, Tune Maari Entriyaan.
Ranveer can carry off anything to everything with much ease and panache. When it comes to his fashion sense, the actor never fails to surprise us. Asked about his style, he said, “I feel that style is an expression and I express myself freely. I don’t filter it. I say what I want, wear what I want and I am not fearful of judgment. I take only a few seconds to get ready. I know exactly what I want to wear. I think everyone should do just what they like to do and it works. The only style tip I have is just wear whatever you like. Don’t dress for others, dress for yourself and love yourself. listen to your instincts and follow your heart.”
It has been six years since he made his Bollywood debut with Band Baaja Baaraat. But with each film, the actor in him has shown versatility. Quizzed about his journey, he shared, “This could take all night. I have lived a lifetime in six years and this has been a wonderful journey. Many people might now know, ever since I was a kid, all I wanted to do was to be a mainstream Hindi film actor and here I am, doing what I love to. I was one of those lucky ones who got to pursue their passion as their profession. I feel blessed. I have played distinctively different characters. I can certainly say that I am not the same kind of an actor that I used to be. I have learnt a few things about the craft. The more work I do, I feel like I know less things. As the years have passed, I have realised that acting is limitless with no boundaries and limitations. I am immensely thankful. I have worked with some of the best filmmakers. I hope to keep evolving as an artist.
“As of this moment I have come out of my rabbit hole to greet everybody with a big bright smile. This character that I am playing is bad guy, you are going to love to hate him (if I do a good enough job). Padmavati is hot and happening right now,” Ranveer said.
People are still reeling from the shock of the attack that took place on director Sanjay leela Bhansali in Jaipur. About that Ranveer said, “Talking about it would be focussing on negatives, I would rather focus on the positives. Shoot is underway and I am going to resume tomorrow. I have been shooting for it even since the incident happened. The team has been very strong. Sanjay sir has been very strong and we are all focussing on the positives. We are very happy about the way the film is shaping up.”
What if there’s a movie made on himIJ What would it be titledIJ Surprised by the question, Ranveer asked, “If a movie was made on meIJ Why would anyone make a movie on meIJ It’s a bad idea!” He later quipped, “I will never really tell you the truths about my life.”
However later he added, “If there’s a movie to be made on my life, it should be titled, A life well-lived or Sex God.”
Apart from Padmavati, Ranveer will also begin shooting for Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy this year. The movie also stars Alia Bhatt in the lead role.
