Sonu Sood will soon be seen judging a comedy show on SAB TV. The actor shares with Rupinder Kaur that people will finally get to see the “real” him

What picture pops in your head when you hear the name Sonu SoodIJ For us, it will be that chiseled physique with the tight abs and those villainous stares which seem as if he’s staring into your soul.

But with his small screen debut, “you will see the real Sonu Sood”. TheDabangg badman will soon be seen on a judge’s hot seat for SAB TV’s forthcoming show Comedy Superstar along with Shekhar Suman and Sushmita Sen.

“Television is a brilliant way to connect with the audience. You get to be you and it is also the best medium for the people to know the real you. It is one space where you can entertain and there is nothing better than a comedy show to do that. Plus I’ve always have had a great sense of humour,” he shares.

little did we know that both Sood and Suman were fitness pals. “Suman and me used to work-out together in a gym and I have also been on his talk show Movers and Shakers. We connect really well. Sushmita, too, is a great girl. I’m sure that along with the contestants, the chemistry amongst us three judges will keep the fun quotient high,” he says.

The actor who was last seen in Happy New Year, wants to strike a balance between TV and films. Currently, Sood is shooting for a film down South and is ecstatic about his future productions. “I started my cinematic journey from the South film industry. That is where I learnt the craft from and have returned to it today. Great scripts are being offered to me and I’m also a part of a Hindi film which  will be announced soon,” he tells us.

The actor believes that it is more about the character an actor steps in to rather than the screenspace. “Both cinema and the audience have matured. It is about how the roles are portrayed and the brilliance of direction. Actors are now open to experimenting with different roles just like in Hollywood you see the best actors in supporting roles. What matters is that it should be exciting and the more you grow, the more you need to take more chances,” he signs off.
