The owners of the popular Canvas laugh Club open People & Co. for Delhiites at Cyber Hub.Sharang Bhaskaran checks in
Delhiites often complain that there are no comedy clubs or places for live comic performances unlike Mumbai which has the Canvas laughter Club. Not anymore. The club has now opened in Gurgaon at the Cyberhub complex at the newly opened club called The People & Co. Inspired by all kinds of real people out there, The People & Co is established by the curators of Canvas laugh Club.
Promising a vibrant mix of music, theatre, comedy and all sorts of live performances, the club’s maiden show was helmed by some of the best standup comics from the country with the who's who of the city in attendance at the gala.
The show was opened by Kunal Kamra, a comic from Mumbai whose act set a perfect stage for the following ones. Kamra regaled us all with his jokes that are all about the absurdities of daily life. The show also had some amazing comics like Vasu Primlani, Abish Mathew, Karunesh Talwar, Amit Tandon and Angad Singh Ranyal from East India Comedy.
A musical performance followed by the band Phyxx from the north-east at the restaurant. The restaurant is unique and quirky in its own way as world-class chefs are flown in to go crazy and “cook up” whatever they like. More than a meal, you will be more likely to be surprised with a piece of culinary art served in front of you which will leave your taste buds craving for more. Bold yet distinct flavours will be brought together in each bite. Also, make sure you follow their motto “Eat till you drop”.
The bar also has a motto of its own-“Drink and let drink”. Everyone who requires anything from coffee to cognac is welcome at anytime of the day (or night). The bar promises to cater to your musical needs with a fantastic line-up of musicians and sometimes, someone who believes he can work up a tune.
