Veere banned in Pak over vulgarity

Veere Di Wedding, starring stars like Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor in a story of four girls, has been banned in Pakistan because of “vulgar dialogues and obscene scenes”.

Danyal Gilani, chairman, Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC), said: “Members of the CBFC unanimously decided to not allow the film for public exhibition in the cinemas as its content flouts the Censorship of Film Code 1980.” It was screened for the CBFC in Pakistan  and according to trade sources, the movie was deemed unfit for exhibition due to “vulgar dialogues and obscene scenes”.

‘I don’t believe in the culture of silence that is so embedded in our middle-class morality. I don’t believe that not telling your parents about what is happening in your life is a sign of respect. In my family, love and trust is the only thing that matters. If I am going through something tough, my parents are the first one to know that.
