Irrfan returns to social media

Irrfan Khan had left his fans in a deep state of shock when he revealed he was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour, a rare form of cancer, in March. The actor, who is currently abroad for his treatment, made a brief comeback on Twitter and shared the poster of his upcoming movie Karwaan, which also marks South heartthrob Dulquer Salmaan and Mithila Palkar’s debut in Bollywood.

“Beginnings have the innocence that experience can’t buy. My best wishes to @dulQuer , @mipalkar for joining the karwaan. ‘ Two karwaans ‘ .... Mine and the movie !! @MrAkvarious @RSVPMovies @RonnieScrewvala,” Irrfan wrote alongside the poster of Karwaan.

‘Having worked as an actor in the industry, I realised that if we need women’s stories to be told with nuance and truth, women need to start writing them. lesbian relationships have mostly been depicted as a male fantasy, I wanted to bring dignity and sensitivity to the subject’

Comedian-actor Vir Das has credited Indian actress Priyanka Chopra for opening doors internationally for “small fish” like him to do “comparatively microscopic things.”

“I’d just like to say Priyanka Chopra is a maverick and a star, who has opened the doors for small fish like me to do comparatively microscopic things. So, if you feel the need to write an article about both of us, write one that gives her credit and appreciation, because I do,” Vir said.

Sitcom based on Harry’s life

Singer Harry Styles is on board as an executive producer for upcoming TV sitcom Happy Together, which is based on a period of his own life after the former boy band One Direction rose to fame. The show stars Damon Wayans Jr and Amber Stevens West as a married couple whose quiet life in suburbia is changed when a musician played by Felix Mallard moves in. It is based on a time in Style’s own life when he settled in with friend and mentor Ben Winston, who now works on The late late Show with James Corden, and his wife Meredith after his band’s talent show success. Mallard opened up about the singer’s involvement in the programme and said he is “really keen. I got to chat with him when we were first deciding to do the show. He’s really keen. He knows that it’s a story based on his life and he gets to produce a TV show which is fantastic for his career. So I think he really, really does care.”
