‘My cinematic view is not corrupt’

With passion for acting and belief in his skills, Nawazuddin Siddiqui's journey in the Hindi film industry is a success story in itself and he just hopes his thought on cinema “never gets corrupt”. For about 19 years, Nawazuddin has been working relentlessly, doing exceptional work, be it as a junior artiste or a leading man in Bollywood today.

“I just hope my thought on cinema does not get corrupt. The kind of cinema I am doing is getting overwhelming response — be it in India or internationally. The films are getting screened and recognised at prestigious festivals of the world, the appreciation that I get as an actor is great. I just hope this thought of doing good work continues and I do not get corrupt,” said Nawazuddin.

“Anywhere, a campaign like this (#MeToo) will be successful only when the victim speaks up. Then the people can stand up in support of the victim. If the victim won't speak up, then no one can speak because the others will be branded as disgruntled people trying to do rumour-mongering.”

Director Sudhir Mishra remembered Satyajit Ray on his 26th death anniversary. The Yeh Saali Zindagi helmer says that the legendary filmmaker was a master.

Mishra re-tweeted a photograph of Ray and captioned: “The master. Absolute precision with the frame and what's outside. The sound suggests the world outside and inside the head. The music begins at exactly the right point. The dialogue suggests the future and the past. And you know what: one does not notice any of this.”

Eminem’s 10 years of sobriety

Rapper Eminem has been sober for a decade. He celebrated it by proudly flaunting a coin that he received for achieving the milestone. The 45-year-old rapper shared a photograph of the coin on Instagram on Saturday. “Celebrated my 10 years,” the 45-year-old rapper captioned the photograph. The coin, which is given to Alcoholics Anonymous members when they have hit a milestone in their journey, featured a Roman numeral X on it along with the words “service”, “unity” and “recovery”.

Rapper Royce Da 5'9 took to Twitter to congratulate his mentor. “Happy sobriety birthday to my mentor Eminem. Keep fighting the good fight homie. I love you for life,” he tweeted.

“In 2007, I overdosed on pills, and I went into the hospital,” he said. Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, had nearly died from an accidental overdose in 2007.
