Sushant starts a social book club
If his Instagram handle is anything to go by, one can gauge that Sushant Singh Rajput is an avid reader and regularly posts profound thoughts, quotes and poems over his social media.
In an attempt to further his love affair with the written word, the Gen-X star has created a book club over Twitter that runs with the handle, @intoxillectual.
Sushant has taken this initiative in the spirit of encouraging dialogue and conversation among readers and also to establish an open platform to bibliophiles across the world, to discuss great books.
The actor had been mulling over assembling a forum for readers for a long time and thought the New Year as a fitting time to give this shoot of his passion for books, an auspicious start.
Says Sushant, “This book club is open to anyone who is interested to join it. On the forum, we will discuss which books should be read, a timeline to finish them, and then share the takeaways. People could come up suggestions of other reads as well. I will handle it personally. It will see active participation and discussions by its members.”
Filmmaker Karan Johar says his very good friend and superstar Shah Rukh Khan is a very inspiring parent.
“Shah Rukh is amazing. He's such an hands on parent, someone who always inspires me,” said Karan, who became a father of twins via surrogacy.
Shah Rukh, who is married
to producer-entrepreneur Gauri Khan, has three children — sons Aryan and AbRam and daughter Suhana Khan.
I admire Ridley Scott: Mark
Actor Mark Wahlberg says he is a big fan of filmmaker Ridley Scott and always wanted to work with him. The actor added that working with Scott on All the Money in the World was a “win-win” situation as he got to learn so much from him.
“I was always fascinated by the story (of the film) itself but the real draw was Ridley Scott. I've always wanted to work with him; we've been friends over probably the past 20 years,” Wahlberg said in a statement.
“I've always been a huge fan and I was in the middle of shooting another movie. I had five days in between two films. I checked with my wife just to let her know what a unique opportunity it was, to play this particular part, and also to work with a guy that I admire so much,” he added.
