Arjun, Parineeti reunite for YRF

Ishaqzaade co-stars Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra are reuniting on screen for Dibakar Banerjee's thriller, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar. Producers Yash Raj Films made the announcement via their official Twitter page. The story of the film is about a man and a woman, who represent two completely different Indias, and also deals with their love-hate relationship, according to the statement on the micro-blogging site.

Talking about the new project, Dibakar said, “This feels like my first film, again. I've had to unlearn everything I know to tell this story.” Parineeti said she used to dream about working with Dibakar. “His films are so different and always make an impact. I am so ready to bite my teeth into this character and give the audience something intense,” she said.

Arjun, who made his debut with YRF, said it was great to come back to the studio. “It feels great to be back home at YRF working with Adi sir and Parineeti, my most amazing and first ever co-actor. Dibakar Banerjee is a name synonymous with being the torchbearer of evolving new age cinema that engages and entertains. I can't wait to work under his tutelage and vision.”

‘Working on that film has been an amazing experience because of Rajkumar Hirani, Ranbir Kapoor and the writing of Abhijat Joshi. I feel Sunil Dutt saab was very human and he never had any vibes of stardom, so it has been gratifying experience playing him on screen.’

Producer of hit TV shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Ekta Kapoor said, “If you educate people, they get bored. If you go out there and show them films, which are entertaining and then they like the characters and start relating to the story because of the characters, you land up doing a lot more to change mindsets than ever. A lipstick Under My Burkha is the only film that I have seen in recent times which talks about women after the age of 50.”

Rihanna high on validation

Singer Rihanna, who is acting in Valerian and Ocean's Eight, says while nobody works especially to win awards like Grammy or Oscar, it's always nice to get some validation. “I'd love to get there one day. Who doesn't want to be told they are doing a great jobIJ Any validation that your work is impacting is rewarding. I work hard and put my all into everything I do but the rest isn't up to me. I don't think anyone makes an album thinking about winning a Grammy, or makes a movie thinking about winning an Oscar. What you do is work as hard as you can and if awards follow, then that's great.”
