Aditi to essay college dropout
Well read actress Aditi Rao Hydari, who graduated from one of the best girls’ college of Delhi University, will essay a college dropout in her new film Aur Devdas. Talking about her role in Sudhir Mishra's political thriller, Hydari said, “My character's name is Chandni, who is a college dropout. She gets lost in the political world. The story is narrated through her point of view. So it's a different kind of Devdas.”
Aditi, who was last seen on the screen in Wazir, said she can't comment much on the film because it's too early to talk about it. However, she said. “It's a political film, and a very different kind of Devdas. It is set on a political scenario, with Sudhir sir's interesting characters and his own typical take on Devdas.” The movie also stars Rahul Bhat and Richa Chadda along with Saurabh Shukla, Dalip Tahil, Deepraj Rana, Saurabh Tyagi and Anurag Kashyap.

The ecosystem for filmmaking in India is prohibitive and only supports big budget films, says director of Chauranga, Bikas Ranjan Mishra, “Independent cinema in India is growing and we take great credit, but it is an individual enterprise... The courage of some very passionate producers. The entire ecosystem is very prohibitive and it supports (only) big budget films,” said Mishra. “The government must re-evaluate its approach. Cinema is not like liquor or cigarette that you tax it. It is a part of our culture, it is our heritage,” he added.
lopez loves her new nickname
Singer-actress Jennifer lopez loves her new nickname ‘Slay lo’. The 46-year-old has been turning heads on the red carpet so far at the awards season, with some incredible ensembles. Her outfit choices have earned her a new moniker — one that the mother-of-two is more than happy with.
Asked what she thought about the nickname, lopez told and international entertainment website, “I'll take it.” lopez currently stars as a single mother and detective Harlee Santos alongside Ray liotta in TV show Shades of Blue — a part she knew she wanted as soon as she read the script. The police procedural series tells the story of Harlee getting involved in a FBI anti-corruption probe. “When I read it, it made me feeling something, it made me feel something right away. And I know if it makes me feel something then it's going to make other people feel something,” lopez said.
