When I was 21-years-old, I decided to join Drupka Buddhism. His Holiness came to my village for a lecture and then I ran over to his monastery without telling my family. The first two years were difficult because I am not used to this kind of hard work. There are so many restrictions for girls. But today, I felt that outside the monastery it is much difficult from ours.
We have rules and regulation in our life. I went home two times in a year to meet my parents. Earlier, they were not happy with me because I chose to become a nun but after they saw so many positive changes in me, they were proud of me now. This is my eighth padyatra with His Holiness. During this Cycle Yatra we faced many difficulties but I can say as a woman, I can do everything now,” said Jigme lamo.
