Before the official launch of his much much awaited 2016 calendar, Dabboo Ratnani opens up to S Mallik about the shoot and the experience of working with “fun-loving” actors like Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhavan
Ever since he rolled out his first calender 17 years ago, there has been no stopping him. Over the years, the Dabboo Ratnani calendar has become one of the most awaited and glamorous feature of Bollywood and it is both an object of pride and envy — pride for those gracing the glossy pages and envy for those who aren’t.
With just a few more days to go beforeRatnani officially launches it, celebs in the tinsel town took to Twitter to share some candid moments from their shoot.
While Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan makes a comeback in the pages, Kriti Sanon makes a debut. “Every year I try to do something different and this year’s is full of energy,” he said.
“With Alia its always very spontaneous. She is full of life and gives great shots and is very easy to work with. Put her in any outfit and she will fit in easily. The best part is that, she is very open to try out new concepts and is very experimentative. Her expression and body language reflects her fun nature.”
“Kriti was a discovery because apart from the fact that she is really pretty she is a natural. I thought that I was shooting her for the first time but she reminded me that I had shot her some eight years ago after she had won a contest and we bonded over that. The shoot with her has revealed a completely new side to her personality.”
“Siddharth is a very good looking guy and the fact that he is so relaxed all the time makes it a delight to shoot him. Alia, Siddharth and a few others are people who participate in the brainstorming of the concept of the shoot and they are good people to bounce ideas off. There have been times when we go for shoot with an idea and end up doing something completely different.”
