In a bid to encourage residents of JJ clusters to make timely payment, Tata Power Delhi Distribution has launched a unique ‘Pay Bill & Win’ scheme for its JJ Cluster consumers of North and Northwest Delhi. Aptly named, ‘Bill Bharo Inaam Pao Yojana’, the scheme also intends to provide on the spot payment facility to JJ residents. The scheme is being run in different JJ clusters on daily basis. Under the scheme, residents of the cluster are duly apprised of the scheme by ensuring due communication in advance through different sources — announcements through loud speakers and door-to-door information among others.
On the day of scheme, a mobile cash van is arranged at the specific cluster wherein residents of the cluster may pay their electricity bills on the spot. Provision of payment in installments is also made available therein. In the evening, a lucky draw is conducted (at JJ cluster only), wherein the winners are selected from those consumers who have made payment during the day or who have zero arrears in their bills. The prizes are distributed to winners by TPDDl representatives.
Commenting on the launch of the scheme, Praveer Sinha, CEO & ED, Tata Power Delhi Distribution said, “True to the ethos of Tata Group, we have always strived for providing incentives and facilities to residents of JJ clusters. The newly launched scheme has also been introduced for the same purpose and I am sure the residents will make timely payment and avail its benefit.” The scheme has already been implemented in five clusters and a total of 25 consumers have been rewarded so far. The prizes bagged by the winners include mobiles and dinner sets. TPDDl plans to conduct the scheme at 15 more JJ Clusters during the month of March.
