Akshay launches a new campaign
Akshay Kumar, who is leading the Indian celebrity online support for global Action/2015, says the campaign is all about taking action to end poverty and inequality and providing equal opportunities. “Action/2015 is not about impossible stunts, it's about taking a plan and turning it into a reality, taking action by ending poverty, inequality and providing equal opportunities for every single person on this planet to secure a better future for all of us today and for our future generations. Between the wealth on this planet and all the overpaid millionaires, if enough of us stand together and give what we can, we literally can end the pain and suffering in this world. That's the kind of statistics I think people need to understand — this isn't impossible, this is 100 per cent doable,” said Akshay. The Action/2015 campaign is a growing movement of more than a thousand organisations in over 120 countries.

Writer-filmmaker Jaideep Varma's new documentary I Am Offended! takes a look at the existing intolerance to stand-up comedy in the country. It features prominent names like Johnny lever, Vir Das and Raju Srivastav. Talking about the documentary, Varma said in a statement: “I Am Offended!'is a film about humour in contemporary India, in particular stand-up comedy which is gaining tremendous ground today as a new art form. It is like a stimulating conversation with a lot of practitioners in this art form punctuated by examples of their best work. All this is within the context of a growing social intolerance and thin-skinnedness in our society.”
Charlize plans a low-key wedding
Charlize Theron is said to be planning a ‘low-key’ wedding with boyfriend Sean Penn. The couple reportedly got engaged in November 2014 during a romantic trip to Paris. They are now said to be looking to exchange vows on a private beach later in the year with just their close friends and family in attendance. She'd love to get married on the beach in her native South Africa, but Sean loves the idea of Cuba. “They've also talked about a sunset ceremony in Malibu — black-tie but barefoot,” an insider quoted. Before getting engaged, Theron said last June that she had no desire to ever become a bride.
