AAMIR IS NEW UNICEF AMBASSADOR OF SA
Aamir Khan has been appointed Unicef Ambassador for South Asia, said the UN agency. Aamir endorsed the offer, in which capacity he would support Unicef's work to promote the right of South Asian children to nutrition. The UN agency announced Aamir as new Unicef ambassador after he visited Kapilvastu and lumbini in West Nepal to observe a locally initiated nutrition programme by women health volunteers, saving thousands of children from malnutrition, a common phenomenon in South Asia. “I hope my messages on the importance of nutrition will make parents, families at all levels support and adopt proven services and nutrition practices that will help children grow and develop to their full potential,” Aamir said.

The forthcoming show Yeh Dil Sun Raha Hai on PAl has two connections from Ekta Kapoor’s past shows. YDSRH goes on air the same day as Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki went on air when it launched. Also the name of the leads, Arjun and Purvi, are same from her previous show Pavitra Rishta. “It's a sort of tribute to Rithvik Dhanjani and Asha Negi. Actually the girl's name was Purvi and boy's name was Rajveer but it was not sounding right and once I ended up calling him Arjun and then we started calling him Arjun. So we fixed this name Arjun and Purvi,” said Ekta. The show premiers on October 16.
SElENA VISITED CANCER PATIENTS
Singer Selena Gomez paid a visit to a children's hospital and spent quality time with the young patients. The 22-year-old singer-actress visited Children's Hospital los Angeles Wednesday afternoon. “Selena took the time to stop and pay a visit. She interacted with each one of them — hearing their stories, giving hugs, sharing a laugh and providing them encouragement,” the hospital said, “It was a much-needed lift for these children and their families during an incredibly difficult time as this.” Sporting a ‘Team Connor’ bracelet in honour of a patient, the singer posed for photos with children near their beds. She even referred to one of her new friends as a princess.
It seemed she had a wonderful time with the kids.
