‘Dads also help in kids' upbringing’
Sonali Bendre, who was initially hesitant about taking up a fiction TV show due to her son, is glad that men nowadays are giving importance to their child’s upbringing. She credits her husband for helping her to manage work and family. The Zakhm star has a nine-year-old son Ranveer with husband and filmmaker Goldie Behl. She believes that now fathers take equal interest in their children’s development as much as mothers do. “Mothers were only involved in bringing up their children. Now fathers are also involved,” she said. Sonali, who will be seen on Ajeeb Daastaan Hain Ye for at least six months, says she wasn’t keen on taking up the forthcoming fiction TV show because of her son. But her husband has been supportive. “My husband said, ‘Don’t worry, you go, I’m there. I’m there for Ranveer.' He goes to our son’s tennis class or picks him up from school,” said the actress, who plays a mother in the show, too.
I can't wait for big roles to come my way. Obviously it bothers me sometimes to play the second lead but I am mostly a secure actor. I look at the importance of my role

Now a biopic on Hawking’s life
Eddie Redmayne’s performance as world famous physicist Stephen Hawking in the highly-anticipated The Theory Of Everything biopic is already generating Oscar buzz. The movie tracks Stephen Hawking's inspirational life story. The film, directed by James Marsh, begins with Stephen in his university days and when he fell in love with his first wife Jane Wilde — played by British star Felicity Jones. The biopic, which is inspired by Wilde's Travelling to Infinity: My life with Stephen, also focusses on Hawking’s life when he is eventually left almost entirely paralysed and dependent on a speech synthesiser to communicate. Against all odds, he works through his sickness to unveil his black hole theory which earns him worldwide recognition. As his condition worsens, doctors tell his wife he’ll never speak again. But his wife insists: ‘Yes, he will.’
